Organon & Henlius Launch Bildyos and Tuzemty in Canada

  • Organon Canada and Shanghai Henlius launched Bildyos (denosumab) and Tuzemty (denosumab) in Canada, biosimilars to Prolia and Xgeva, respectively, across all approved indications.
  • The denosumab biosimilars are used to treat osteoporosis and bone complications associated with cancer, offering new treatment options aimed at improving patient access to bone-health therapies.
  • The launch strengthens Organon’s Canadian biosimilars portfolio, which now spans five therapeutic areas, including oncology, supporting broader access to cost-effective biologic medicines.
  • The products stem from a 2022 global licensing and supply agreement under which Organon obtained exclusive commercialization rights to several Henlius biosimilars outside China, including Bildyos and Tuzemty

Takeaways:

The new products expand Organon’s Canadian biosimilars line to eight drugs across five therapeutic areas, including oncology, strengthening its position as a major biosimilar supplier and supporting broader access to cost‑effective biologic bone‑health therapies. Because these launches sit within a 2022 global license and supply agreement that gives Organon exclusive ex‑China commercialization rights to Henlius biosimilars referencing Prolia/Xgeva, Perjeta, and potentially Yervoy, Canada is part of a wider strategy to roll out Henlius-developed biosimilars through Organon’s commercial infrastructure in mature and emerging markets.
