Canada Invests C$31.25M in Kardium’s Manufacturing Expansion

  • The Government of Canada will provide up to C$31.25M through the Strategic Response Fund toward Kardium’s C$125M project to expand its manufacturing capabilities and cleanroom facility in Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • The expansion will enable Kardium to scale manufacturing of its Globe® Pulsed Field System while retaining critical IP, expertise and high-value jobs in Canada as the company grows globally.
  • The Globe System received Health Canada approval in July 2026 and FDA approval in August 2025. The integrated platform combines high-density cardiac mapping and pulsed field ablation in a single catheter.
  • Designed for atrial fibrillation, the Globe System provides real-time information on catheter positioning and tissue contact while enabling targeted treatment, supporting more precise and efficient AF ablation.

Takeaways:

The Canadian government’s funding supports Kardium’s plan to expand manufacturing and cleanroom capacity in Vancouver, enabling the company to scale production of its Globe Pulsed Field System as it grows globally. By backing domestic manufacturing, the investment helps Kardium retain critical intellectual property, expertise, and high-value jobs in Canada while meeting demand for its integrated mapping and pulsed field ablation platform, which is now approved in both Canada and the US.
