MEDFAR Acquires AlloMia to Expand AI-Powered Healthcare Workflows

  • MEDFAR, the Canadian healthcare technology company behind MYLE electronic medical record (EMR), has acquired AI conversational agent developer AlloMia, marking its second AI technology acquisition in under two years.
  • AlloMia’s AI voice agent answers patient calls 24/7, manages requests and books appointments directly into clinic schedules. In recently onboarded pilot clinics, it independently handles around 50% of calls from start to finish.
  • The acquisition adds a fourth AI capability to MYLE, alongside AI Scribe, AI Form-Filling and AI Indexing, integrating intelligence across clinical documentation, administrative tasks and patient communication to reduce staff workload.
  • The AlloMia team has joined MEDFAR, and the solution is now available to all MYLE clinics. It also integrates with Plexia and Medgen EMRs, extending its reach across healthcare practices.

Takeaways:

MEDFAR’s acquisition of AlloMia strengthens its position in AI-enabled practice management by extending automation from clinical documentation to patient communication. The voice agent’s ability to independently resolve around 50% of calls in pilot clinics highlights its potential to ease administrative pressure, while integration with multiple EMRs broadens its addressable market beyond MYLE users.
